Item Details

An early twentieth-century cast iron scale by Jacobs New York. The Jacobs/Detecto scale company was started in 1900 by three immigrant brothers. The piece features a black cast iron base with metal pan and copper alloy arm and weight. It is marked ‘Jacobs New York U.S.A.’, ‘No 4’ and with a U in a circle mark.
