Hand-Knotted Turkish Ghiordes Wool Prayer Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Turkish Ghiordes wool prayer rug. This accent rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, wheat, powder blue, rose, ivory, and black. The crimson colored field features a single mihrab supported by columns with a stepped arch, along with a chandelier, and a flower filled urn to the base. The niche is flanked by stylized laleh abbasi panels, and framed in a main herati border, along with a pair of meandering guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool kilim skirt with wool warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
