Hand-Knotted Persian Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, black, ivory, carnation, clementine, emerald, sapphire, and walnut. The crimson lozenged field begins with a diamond medallion infilled with floral motifs, and grounded by ivory flower filled spandrels. The geometrically designed field also features a vase form to each end arranged with flowering branches throughout. Framing the field is a black grounded main border with a floral meander pattern, along with Hamadan guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a short cotton warp fringe to the ends. There is a label to the underside ‘Hand Woven in Iran’.
