An Hermès of Paris silk scarf in the Ecole Française d’Equitation pattern designed by Jean de Fougerolle. The subject, General L’Hotte, was a French cavalry officer and is considered by many to be the father of modern French Equitation, upon which the American Forward Riding System is based. This scarf depicts a variety of horses and riders in various equestrian disciplines such as jumping and dressage. The piece features a black, red, gold tone and orange colorway, and is finished with hand-rolled and stitched edges. It is labeled to the verso, ‘Made in France 100% Silk’.
