A plaster wall hanging of The 12th Station of the Cross. This relief sculpture depicts Jesus on the cross surrounded by his followers with a plaque beneath the figures reading ‘Jesus expires on the Cross’. Gothic style decorative elements frame the piece, and it is topped with a cross. There are no apparent maker’s marks and the work is wired to hang to the verso.

Condition

- crumbling plaster and peeling paint throughout; loss to sculpture throughout; top of left post is missing; accretion and dust to recesses, especially to the verso.
