A hand-knotted Pakistani Bokhara area rug. This wool rug is hand-knotted in a palette of persimmon, black, camel, and ivory.. The field is patterned with Chemche and Tekke guls arranged in a lattice pattern. It is framed with compound borders of boxed hooked medallions infilled with eight-pointed stars and bands of geometric forms. Skirts at either end include diamond lattice designs. It is finished with overcast selvedges and fringe to each end. The rug bears a woven inscription at one end and a tag identifying the country of origin is attached to the underside.
