19th Century Eastern Orthodox Oil Paint Icon "The Virgin Hodegetria"
Item Details
A mid to late 19th century Eastern Orthodox oil paint on board icon of The Virgin Hodegetria. This icon features the faces of the Virgin Mary holding Child Jesus at her side. A gold plated riza with embossed halos, clothing, and a geometric border is overlaid on top of the painting. The back of the icon is covered with a piece of cloth and no signatures or marks are visible.
