Rina Bottai Oil Painting After Raphael "Madonna della Seggiola"

An antique copy of Italian Renaissance painter Raphael’s c. 1514 painting Madonna della Seggiola by Rina Bottai of Florence, Italy. This painting remains faithful to the original depicting Madonna holding a baby Jesus with an angel looking upon them with adoration. The painting is housed in a considerably ornate gold tone wooden and gesso frame. The frame features large molded shell and floral motifs to the four corners and centers of each side, as well as additional molded scrolling, floral, and foliate detail throughout. The verso of the painting features hand-written script reading ‘Madonna della Seggiola de Raffaello, Galleria Pitti Firenze, Copio: Rina Bottai, Via L. Ximenes, 73.’ Also included to the verso is a stamped seal from Galleria Palatina Firenze with illegible hand-written script.
