Antique Victorian Carved Dining Chair with Needlepoint Seat

Item Details

An antique, circa late nineteenth or early twentieth-century, carved dining chair. The chair has an arched, carved crest rail with a floral motif, serpentine side rails, and a scrolled slat back, flanked with delicate turned spindles. The seat is padded and upholstered in needlepoint, featuring a bouquet of flowers on a plum colored background. The chair rests on serpentine legs with stretchers. No maker’s mark.

- wood has surface marks, scratches, dings, discoloration, wear; upholstery has wear, including worn and frayed edges with loose threads; needlepoint seat is a replacement
