Norman Bacon Pottery Raku Vase
Item Details
A vintage Norman Bacon Pottery raku vase. This iridescent art pottery vase was created using the artist’s ‘Painting with Fire’ method, which involves a mold, followed by a raku firing, then a wax resist before a copper dipping. It is constructed with a wide circular mouth, a flared neck that flows into broad shoulders, and a textured body that tapers to a circular base. The verso is signed by the artist in metallic ink. Norman Bacon worked as a potter for over three decades, and was based in the Catskills Mountains of Woodstock, NY.
