Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Tabriz wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a slight abrash palette of cranberry, plum, saffron painted over ivory, sky blue, emerald, goldenrod, walnut, sage, wheat, and carnation. The cranberry colored field begins with a diamond pendant medallion, and coordinating spandrels infilled with a vase form, while grounded in plum. The field also features bouquets radiating from the spandrels, along with sprays throughout the remainder. Framing the field is an ornately designed floral and palmette patterned main border, as well as floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. The underside is labeled ‘Made in Iran’.
