Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian area rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of camel, apricot, cocoa, sapphire and scarlet. It features an allover floral design with herati elements, incorporating arabesqued palmettes, flowers, foliage and vines over a camel field. The field is framed by eight borders, including a herati main border grounded in cocoa and filled with meandering leaves, vines, botehs, palmettes and flowers. Minor borders include floral meander patterns over apricot. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with clipped tan wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
