A hand-knotted Persian Kashan wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of cranberry, indigo, sky blue, ivory, ochre, olive, rose, mocha, and sand. The cranberry hued field begins with a diamond pendant medallion, and coordinating layered spandrels grounded in indigo, ivory, and sky blue. The field as a whole features an all-over design of flowering vines, palmettes, and curled leaves. Framing the field is an indigo grounded main herati border, along with multiple floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. The underside is labeled ‘Made in Iran’.
