Vintage Handwoven Persian Heriz Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A vintage handwoven Persian Heriz wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of wine, ivory, mocha, sepia, salmon, celadon, and sky blue. The variegated wine and mocha hued field is over populated with a large star pendant medallion, along with floral clusters and palmettes. The field also features sepia grounded spandrels each infilled with floral swags, and a single palmette. Framing the field is an ivory grounded main herati border, and a floral designed guard border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. The underside is labeled ‘Made in Iran’.
