1889 Chromolithograph Supplemental Print from "The Art Amateur" Magazine

An antique chromolithograph on paper, printed as a supplement to the July 1889 edition of The Art Amateur, a late 19th-century New York-based art magazine. The piece depicts a man and a woman walking with goats and an ox cart near a blue waterfront, against a backdrop of green hills and distant white buildings. The print is unsigned, but includes a notation of ‘Colored Supplement No. 1 to ’THE ART AMATEUR’ – July 1889’ printed in plate to the upper left. It is matted and presented under glass in a wooden frame with black and gold tone finish, fitted with hanging wire to the verso.

- discoloration and toning to paper and matting; accretion and staining to mat; nicks, scratches and edge wear to frame; scuffs and wear to frame verso.
