Item Details
A vintage Hepplewhite style mahogany breakfront with secretary desk. The breakfront has crown molding above a display cabinet having bubble glass doors with half-round frets, with wood shelves inside. It rests on a chest that has a secretary desk in the center, featuring a hinged panel that folds down to reveal a leather topped writing surface, divided compartments and small drawers, with three additional full-width dovetailed drawers below. The secretary is flanked by drawers and cabinets with beaded trim, fitted with oval brass escutcheons and bail pulls. The breakfront rests on a molded base, and is labeled ‘J. H. Wiley’ and ‘Saginaw Furniture Shops, Inc. – Saginaw Michiagn’, along with a label from the Mahogany Association, Inc. Please note, the top section separates from the bottom section for easier transport.
