A semi-antique handwoven Turkmen tribal wool area rug. This unique rug is rendered in palette of deep sepia-black, cranberry, indigo, clementine, wine, and sand. The brown-black colored field features four large Kyrgyz floral motifs housed in elaborate medallions that have tree of life motifs, and accompanied with smaller flower filled vase motifs. Framing the field is a kaikalak patterned main border grounded in indigo, along with a pair of running dog guard borders, and minor X-patterned borders. Finishing this rug are double overcast selvedges and a long striped wool kilim with wool warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
