An etching on paper titled La Sainte Chapelle by Austrian born artist Edgar Chahine (1874 – 1947). The black and white intaglio print depicts a figures walking in front of a horse drawn carriage heading to the chapel seated in the background. Signed in plate and signed by hand to the lower left, the etching is presented under glass in a brown and gold tone wood frame with a wire present to the verso for hanging purposes. With the help of private tutoring, Chahine found success at a young age with his etchings with the help of published and dealer Edmond Sagot. His etchings won prizes at the Exposition Universelle de Paris and the Salon de la Sociéte Nationale des Beaux-Arts.
