Antique Rosewood and Brass Lap Desk on Stand, Circa 1860

Item Details

An antique rosewood and brass lap desk on stand, circa mid 19th c. The desk is rectangular, with a hinged lid that is embellished with ornate brass edge trim and hardware. It opens to reveal a red fabric lined surface, and several divided compartments. The writing desk chest rests on a later rectangular wood frame with straight legs and an H stretcher. No maker’s mark.
