Wooden Grandfather Clock with Moon Phase Dial and USC Pendulum
Item Details
A grandfather clock with moon phase dial and USC pendulum. The clock features and elegant design with a golden oak finish on select hardwood and veneers and reeded side columns with embossed brass capitals. The clock has a curved bonnet on an inset burl crest and a wood front door with inset glass panels that display a brass dial with raised gold tone Arabic numbers and serpentine hands set on an etched center. The face has three key arbors, brass spandrels with a scrollwork design and a moon phase dial above the clock with an etched clipper ship design. Other features of the clock include a brass lyre pendulum marked ‘University of Southern California’ and cylinder style weights on chains, a weight driven movement with chimes, a wood and metal winding key and the clock stands on a plinth style base.
