Antique Wood Settle Bench

Item Details

A large, antique, primitive wood settle bench with mortise and tenon joinery. The bench back has a simple triangular crest rail and thick, square side supports. It has straight arms with rounded ends, solid wood sides, a deep wood seat, and straight square legs. No maker’s mark.

Condition

- to Poor; surface marks, dings, scratches, discoloration and wear throughout; the bench back is loose; bench wobbles; seat has large cracks; wood shows evidence of insect damage; seat boards are weak in the back.
