Vintage Oak Printer's Cabinet
Item Details
A vintage, circa early twentieth-century, printer’s cabinet. The triangular cabinet is made of oak, with seventy-seven small divided compartments for holding printer’s type. The top of the cabinet is shallower, increasing in depth at the bottom. A clear acrylic panel has more recently been added to the front of the cabinet, held in place by three plastic clips at the top, and a metal track at the bottom. The top of the cabinet retains its original metal label, marked ‘Thompson Cabinet Company – Printers’ Furniture – ‘The Standard of Comparison’ Ludington, Michigan’.
