Item Details

A fifteen piece collection of Japanese porcelain moriage dragonware. Moriage is a type of decoration created by applying designs in relief to the surface of a piece, much like piping frosting onto a cake. A popular design created with this method is a dragon or dragonware, which is featured here. These pieces show a winged, open mouthed white dragon on a grey and white ground. Included in this group are a coffee pot, a creamer, a covered sugar bowl, six cups and six saucers. The undersides are marked ‘Made in Japan’.
