Chinese Porcelain with Royal Winton Candy Dish

Item Details

An assortment of tableware featuring two Chinese bowls with floral and dragon designs to the wells, translucent rice grains to the sides, geometrical borders, and red floral patterns to the exteriors. They are marked ‘Made in China’ to the undersides. Also included is a hand-embellished figural porcelain plate, a black plate with a curved reticulated verge, and a Royal Winton covered candy dish with a bright floral pattern to the dark red ground. The latter was made in England and is marked ‘Grimwades’ to the underside. Also included are an official introduction and catalogue booklet from the Exhibition of Archaeological Finds of the People’s Republic of China (Royal Ontario Museum, 1974) and a paperback book on the exhibition titled The Chinese Exhibition by William Watson (Times Newspapers, 1974).
