A hand-knotted Persian wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of cranberry, black, ivory, charcoal, clementine; rose, aqua, and mocha. The lozenged cranberry colored field begins with a large lobed pendant medallion, along with branched elements, and an abundance of floral motifs. The lozenge is grounded with black colored spandrels that feature similar motifs, including a branched diamond form, and partial medallion. Framing the field is a floral meander main border grounded in black, along with a pair of carnation meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
