A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai area rug. This wool carpet is hand-knotted in a palette of red, indigo, cream , burnt orange, black, moss green, and burgundy. It has a rhomboid shaped central hooked medallion with designs of peacocks, ‘S’ hooks, lobbed flowers, and tree of life motifs patterning the field. Each corner features a matching medallion with stylized boteh designs. It is framed with sawtooth line and linked flower patterned borders. Finished with overcast selvedges and fringe to either end. Unmarked.
