A hand-knotted Persian Kashan wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a slight abrash palette of scarlet, ivory, sapphire, carnation, fern, wine, mocha, and aqua. The scarlet hued field begins with a diamond pendant medallion, along with sapphire and carnation grounded layered spandrels. The remainder of the field is populated with floral and palmette motifs scrolling throughout on leafy vines. Framing the field is a herati main border grounded in ivory, along with floral meander guard borders, and chained minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
