Hand-Knotted Kazak Wool Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Kazak carpet runner. This wool rug displays three traditional star medallions in shades of crimson, ecru, indigo, grey and ivory. Minor guls, animal forms and floral elements further decorated the field along with rectangular devices at each corner. A mirrored boteh pattern frames the rug flanked by a pair of reciprocal sawtooth borders. Selvedges are overcast in stripes, finishing with ivory warp fringe at either end. It is not labeled.
