A Japanese woodblock after Utagawa Hiroshige’s (歌川広重, 1797-1858) One Hundred Famous Views of Edo: Sudden Shower at Atake. This piece depicts figures crossing a bridge as seen through a veil of driving rain, and features calligraphic text to the upper right and lower left corners. The print is matted under glass in a wooden frame with rings for hanging to its verso.
