An Art Deco-style gouache painting of a dancer in the manner of listed French illustrator George Barbier (1882–1932). This piece depicts a nude woman dancing with an undulating scarf to the music played by two crouching devil-like figures, an ocean and ominous black sky behind them. The piece is signed ‘G.B. 1914’ by an unknown hand to its lower left and is matted under acrylic glass in a gold tone composite frame, a hanging wire to its verso.
