Signed
An original acrylic painting on board of a face by very well-listed and prolific contemporary German Neo-Expressionist Peter Robert Keil (Berlin; born 1942). The painting depicts the face of an abstracted figure painted in thick black line work against red, yellow, orange and green background. This piece is signed in black pigment to the lower right. It is unframed, awaiting your choice of presentation.
Influenced by German Expressionism and graffiti elements, Keil is known for his simplified abstractions of traditional art subjects. He studied under Otto Nagel at a young age and developed relationships with other renowned artists such as Joan Miro. As Keil abandoned realism and developed his signature style, he used more vibrant colors rapidly applied with large gestural brushstrokes resembling the abstract style of Picasso.
