A hand-knotted Persian Tabriz silk and wool room size rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash and variegated palette of ivory, powder blue, sapphire, wheat, sepia, carnation, aqua, and sand. The ivory colored field begins with a large central pendant medallion ornately designed in a floral theme. The field features bouquets, sprays, cypress trees, and blooms throughout, as well as elaborate spandrels grounded in a powder blue to cerulean hue infilled with a vase form and more flowers. Framing the field is a wide series of borders included a wheat grounded main border equally ornate with floral and foliate motifs, vases, and trefoil shaped notches. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends, as well as reinforced stitching. This rug is unlabeled.
