A hand-knotted Chinese Peking Style area rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of cream, midnight blue and ice blue with hints of lavender and salmon. It features a classic Old Peking vase design, which begins with a semi-geometric central medallion featuring twining vines and key motifs amid a floral starburst. The medallion rests on a cream-colored field joined by floral filled branches at each corner. Framing the field are three borders, including solid blue and cream with floral motifs in the main border to the middle and corners. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with twisted warp fringe. It is not labeled.
