An antique Wedgwood basalt black jasperware teapot. This piece displays a matte black finish with a design of vertical panels featuring a fitted lid adorned with a figural shaped finial. The finial displays a woman with a blanket draped over her body. The teapot has an applied scrolled side handle and a shaped spout decorated with scroll motifs. The underside bears an impressed ‘Wedgwood’ mark.
