Hand-Knotted Turkish "Tabriz" Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Turkish ‘Tabriz’ wool area rug. The rug has been worked in a narrow abrashed palette of shades of brown including caramel, tawny, and clay with accents in robin’s egg blue and faded aqua. There is a subtle lobed central pendant medallion surrounded by a whirl of herati and scrolling foliage. The compound border includes carnation and meander guard borders as well a wide herati primary border. The selvedges have been overcast and there is short fringe at each end. The rug is not labeled.
