Etching after Titian's Gozzi Altarpiece

An etching on paper after the Gozzi Altarpiece by Italian painter Titian (c.1488-1576). This piece depicts the Madonna with her infant son in the clouds and flanked by cherubs. Stanging beneath them are the Saints Francis and Blaise, with the latter pointing upwards and with one hand on the kneeling Alvise Gozzi. The print has a caption along the lower margin and is unsigned. It is presented behind glass in a gold tone molded wood frame with wire to the verso for hanging.

Condition

- print is slightly discolored with a spot or two of foxing as well as a few spots that are bleached.
