Hand-Knotted Baluch Wool Accent Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Baluch wool accent rug. The rug has been woven in a palette of scarlet, crimson, chocolate, deep ocean blue, emerald, tangerine, ivory, burgundy, and charcoal. The rug has three stepped diamond medallions, the middle one with an ivory center with geometric and floral devices. The medallions are surrounded by stylized floral and geometric motifs and marvelous peacocks with tails on display. At each end of the field are boxed abstract figural elements. The field and its pictorial devices are framed by multiple bands including split leaf, hooked boat meander, running dog, and bird head designs. The selvedges have been overcast and there is fringe at each end. A small illegible tag is affixed to the underside.
