A Kelvin & Hughes Brunton compass. This Brunton pocket transit features a mirror with axis line and sighting window to the inside of the lid with a folding sit at the top of the lid, a 360 degree graduated circle with bulls eye level and magnetic needle for orientation and a clinometer with clinometer level for elevation determination set into a square base. The compass is marked ‘Brunton Compass’ and ‘Kelvin & Hughes London 1917’ to the exterior of the case with a table of natural sines.
