An original hand-drawn editorial cartoon titled Still the Same Old Prince by listed illustrator Vaughn Shoemaker (1902 – 1991), published in the Chicago Daily News, December 11, 1936. The drawing depicts the prince on the ground, scepter in hand and crown laying beside him, as his throne was blown into the air. It is signed to the lower right and a handwritten inscription from the artist is present to the lower center. A letter from the artist on The Chicago Dailey News letterhead, addressed to Mr. Martin Low is attached to the verso along with the published cartoon. This piece is presented behind an off-white mat, under glass, in a black wood frame with no hanging hardware present.
