Early 20th Century Arts and Crafts Oak Smoker's Cabinet
Item Details
An early 20th century Arts and Crafts oak smoker’s cabinet. The dark-stained, paneled case features a square, copper-lined top edged in metal tacks. Directly below is a single door with exposed hinges, a triangular escutcheon, and a ring pull. The upper, left corner is inset with a small, incised portrait of a gentleman wearing a top hat and the door opens to reveal a pipe rack on its verso. The cabinet interior is fitted with a pair of shelves at the top and a drawer at the bottom. It rises on four square legs joined by a box stretcher and ending in molded feet. The hinges appear to read ‘Stanley Works / 4’, otherwise the cabinet is unmarked by the maker.
