Antique Continental Porcelain Oyster Plates
Item Details
A selection of three antique porcelain oyster plates. This group features two identical plates, square in shape with notched corners. The shaped forms show five oyster wells with hand painted eyes against a blue ground with raised gilded detail. They have impressed mold numbers to the undersides ‘1676 37’ and what appears to be ‘97’ painted by hand and date to the late nineteenth century. Also included is an oyster plate which is round in form with five large oyster wells and three smaller round wells on a pink lustre ground with white flowers and gilded detail. It is marked to the underside.
