A hand-knotted Persian Bijar area rug.This wool rug is hand-knotted in a palette of red, violet-blue, coral, orange, teal, slate grey, cream, black and sage. It has a hexagonal shaped hooked medallion on a hexagonal shaped lozenge patterned with a geometric herati motif that continues onto the corner brackets. It has carnation meander guard borders and a samovar pattern main border. Finished with overcast selvedges and natural warp fringe to either end. Marked to verso.
