This work is part of the artist’s Rip-Off Series executed in the 1990s, for which he appropriated images of pop icons. Nick Vukmanovich is known for his large ‘psycho social’ portraits that feature Art Brut, Pop, and Neo-expressionist elements with large patches of vibrant colors and gestural brushstrokes. His work has been exhibited at various museums and galleries including the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Agora Gallery, and Skot Foreman Fine Art, Ltd., among others.

- canvas is unstretched and tends to curl from storage; some fraying along canvas edges; torn off areas to lower right edge of canvas.
