Herend "Blue Garland" Covered Soup Tureen and Underplate
Item Details
A hand painted porcelain soup tureen and underplate from Herend, Hungary. The pattern, Blue Garland boasts a simple garland of small blue flowers with fuschia line detail and gilded trim. The tureen has a shaped from with a domed lid and subtle raised basket weave detail. It has green handles to the lid and sides that are embellished with applied pink roses. The undersides are marked by the maker with the underplate marked ‘1102/PBG’ and the tureen marked, ‘1014/PBG’.
Condition
- loss to pink flower petals; faint surface marks from use; light wear to gilding.
