Early 20th Century Hunzinger-Style Armchair and Windsor Style Armchair
Item Details
An early 20th century Hunzinger style armchair and a Windsor style armchair. The Hunzinger style example features a twisted, carved-oak frame with a padded back and seat. The back is faced with a tooled leather panel depicting an armor-clad soldier standing before an arched backdrop while the seat is covered in leather-like vinyl. Also included is Windsor style armchair with a birdcage crest above a nine-spindle back flanked by spindled arms with ball-turned handholds. The contoured, saddle seat is supported by four splayed and turned legs joined by spindled stretchers. Both pieces are unmarked by the maker.

Condition
- both pieces with scattered surface wear; Hunzinger style example with a repair/crack to right half of the crest; leather panel covering back with tears and losses; underside of seat is sagging with detached dust cover along left edge; Windsor style armchair with heavier wear to finish on the crest and arms; the back and arms are slightly loose and the legs are slightly wobbly; left ball finial of crest has a small crack.
