An original 1930 oil painting on canvas by listed American artist James Korn ( (1873 – 1961), titled At the Fountain. The painting depicts a woman wearing a loose white and coral gown as she stands against a shadowy background holding a large water jug. The painting is signed and dated to the lower right, and is titled and noted ‘French School’ to the verso of the piece on the stretcher bars. The painting is presented in a wooden frame with gold tone finish and a sawtooth hanger attached to the verso.

Condition

- craquelure across painting’s finish. A few small areas of background have been inpainted, including a patched area to the left of the figure’s head.
