A 1964 limited edition woodblock print on paper by Japanese artist Akira Matsumoto (松本旻 b. 1936) titled An Extra Newspaper. This abstract print depicts a line of red squares set against a grayish ground, an ‘X’ running from the centermost one toward paper-like shapes at each corner. The print is signed and titled in Japanese to its lower margin along with a notation of the date and an edition number of 172/210. The piece is matted under glass in an aluminum frame with a wire for hanging.
