Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian area rug. This wool rug offers an all-over lattice pattern featuring star medallions framed by octagonal boxes. It is worked in orange, navy, fern and red with ivory outlines and an onyx ground. Framing the rug are running water, star flower heads and barber pole borders. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with ivory warp fringe at either end. It is labeled with a tag to the verso indicating country of origin.
