Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Qum Tree of Life area rug. This wool carpet is hand-knotted in a palette of muted coral, cornflower blue, cream, brown, sage, and navy. The field is patterned with ornate vases, flowering plants and Tree of Life motifs. Swan like birds can be seen at each corner spandrel and it has floral meander and alternating ‘X’ and ‘O’ shaped guard borders.It has a curvilinear herati pattern main border and it is finished with overcast selvedges and fringe to either end. Marked to verso.
