Hand-Knotted Central Asian Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Central Asian area rug. This wool rug offers a highly ornate pattern with detailed allover floral and vine designs with floral sprays including shah abbasi along with arabesques of foliage with flower heads. It is worked in a palette of onyx, scarlet red, sapphire, azure, rose, caramel, ivory, gold and fern. The rug is framed with a wide main border boasting layers of stylized shah abbasi in the field colors. Selvedges are overcast, finishing with ivory warp fringe at either end. It is not labeled.
